Branding yourself is so important. Follow the SWOT Analysis. Here is an example of a SWOT Analysis of my social media:
STRENGTHS: I am relatable, college graduate, from a small town, and working a normal 9-5 job.
WEAKNESSES: Lack of content. There is only so much content to come up with when you live a "simple" life. I have to constantly be innovating.
OPPORTUNITIES: I am NEW and people are excited to find a new face to follow and get to know.
THREATS: There are SO many people on social media with large followings.

Looking at all of this my BEST option for my brand would be a "lifestyle" because I am relatable and have similar lives to my followers.

What's your story?
Having my followers follow me on my journey of landing my dream job is mine. Everyone wants to find a job they truly love but a lot are scared to take the risk of quitting their "safe" job. People want to see how I am doing it and the outcome of my job search. It is going to make people want to stick around to see where I do and how I get there. Are you sharing a weight loss journey, posting fashion ideas, what? You have to be consistent in what you are talking about with your audience.

AESTHETIC:

I always use my aesthetic example as Kate Spade. Youthful, bold, colorful, and fun. I personally don't relate to those pages that contain all soft color minimalistic images, I don't think it takes much creativity to do so. I enjoy creators that brighten up my screen. I try to post mainly outdoor pictures because I find they brighten up my feed. I use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos. I have a preset that I use called "beachy" I use it on all of my pictures, even my stories, so that my feed looks put together and pleasing to the eye.

INTERACTING:

It used to be "cool" to like a comment on your post. It's not anymore. There are so many content creators on social media that not engaging with your followers is not going to work. More than likely there is probably someone out there posting somewhat similar content to yours, so that follower is going to stick with the creator that wants to be their "friend". I always say your followers are your "friends". Talk to them, get to know them, and most importantly make them get to really know you. The more personal you get the more your followers will feel tied to you and will want to stick around on your 'journey'.

Be different & extra. Most people post a picture in their cap & gown when they graduate. This post got a lot of clicks & profile visits because people wanted to know "why is she holding balloons?" "what is she celebrating?"

Fun, bold, & colorful, matching my aesthetic.

Something I do for my feed is every three pictures I add an object picture. This one featuring my necklaces but still bright matching my feed. This is a simple picture that you can take right in your room but it's still Pinterest & repost worthy.


Casual product placement.
- Laptop open in the background. Makes people wanna look at what I'm listening too.
-Bag on the floor. It also makes people wanna check out what kind of bag I have/use.
-"personal" background. It makes people stop & stare for longer. Is that her bedroom?
UNIQUE content that almost looks fake. This post went viral on Pinterest & Vsco. A lot of people actually asked me how I edited this photo because it looked fake. Girl, its just a filter!
